The MongoDB Enterprise Advanced 3.x Server Security Technical Implementation Guide is published as a tool to improve the security of Department of Defense (DoD) information systems. This documents is meant for use in conjunction with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (OS) STIG and any other STIGs applicable to the system. MongoDB is an open-source, cross-platform, document-oriented database program. Known as a NoSQL database program, MongoDB uses JSON-like documents with schemata. MongoDB supports field, range query, and regular expression searches. Queries can return specific fields of documents and also include user-defined JavaScript functions. Queries can also be configured to return a random sample of results of a given size.
