CVE-2021-3975 |
A use-after-free flaw was found in libvirt. The qemuMonitorUnregister() function in qemuProcessHandleMonitorEOF is called using multiple threads without being adequately protected by a monitor lock. This flaw could be triggered by the virConnectGetAllDomainStats API when the guest is shutting down. An unprivileged client with a read-only connection could use this flaw to perform a denial of service attack by causing the libvirt daemon to crash. Published: August 23, 2022; 4:15:08 PM -0400 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 6.5 MEDIUM V2.0:(not available) |
CVE-2022-0897 |
A flaw was found in the libvirt nwfilter driver. The virNWFilterObjListNumOfNWFilters method failed to acquire the driver->nwfilters mutex before iterating over virNWFilterObj instances. There was no protection to stop another thread from concurrently modifying the driver->nwfilters object. This flaw allows a malicious, unprivileged user to exploit this issue via libvirt's API virConnectNumOfNWFilters to crash the network filter management daemon (libvirtd/virtnwfilterd). Published: March 25, 2022; 3:15:10 PM -0400 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 4.3 MEDIUM V2.0: 4.0 MEDIUM |
CVE-2021-4147 |
A flaw was found in the libvirt libxl driver. A malicious guest could continuously reboot itself and cause libvirtd on the host to deadlock or crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. Published: March 25, 2022; 3:15:09 PM -0400 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 6.5 MEDIUM V2.0: 4.9 MEDIUM |
CVE-2021-3667 |
An improper locking issue was found in the virStoragePoolLookupByTargetPath API of libvirt. It occurs in the storagePoolLookupByTargetPath function where a locked virStoragePoolObj object is not properly released on ACL permission failure. Clients connecting to the read-write socket with limited ACL permissions could use this flaw to acquire the lock and prevent other users from accessing storage pool/volume APIs, resulting in a denial of service condition. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability. Published: March 02, 2022; 6:15:08 PM -0500 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 6.5 MEDIUM V2.0: 3.5 LOW |
CVE-2021-3631 |
A flaw was found in libvirt while it generates SELinux MCS category pairs for VMs' dynamic labels. This flaw allows one exploited guest to access files labeled for another guest, resulting in the breaking out of sVirt confinement. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality and integrity. Published: March 02, 2022; 6:15:08 PM -0500 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 6.3 MEDIUM V2.0: 3.3 LOW |
CVE-2020-10701 |
A missing authorization flaw was found in the libvirt API responsible for changing the QEMU agent response timeout. This flaw allows read-only connections to adjust the time that libvirt waits for the QEMU guest agent to respond to agent commands. Depending on the timeout value that is set, this flaw can make guest agent commands fail because the agent cannot respond in time. Unprivileged users with a read-only connection could abuse this flaw to set the response timeout for all guest agent messages to zero, potentially leading to a denial of service. This flaw affects libvirt versions before 6.2.0. Published: May 27, 2021; 3:15:07 PM -0400 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 6.5 MEDIUM V2.0: 4.0 MEDIUM |
CVE-2020-25637 |
A double free memory issue was found to occur in the libvirt API, in versions before 6.8.0, responsible for requesting information about network interfaces of a running QEMU domain. This flaw affects the polkit access control driver. Specifically, clients connecting to the read-write socket with limited ACL permissions could use this flaw to crash the libvirt daemon, resulting in a denial of service, or potentially escalate their privileges on the system. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability. Published: October 06, 2020; 10:15:12 AM -0400 |

CVE-2019-20485 |
qemu/qemu_driver.c in libvirt before 6.0.0 mishandles the holding of a monitor job during a query to a guest agent, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service (API blockage). Published: March 18, 2020; 10:15:10 PM -0400 |

CVE-2019-10161 |
It was discovered that libvirtd before versions 4.10.1 and 5.4.1 would permit read-only clients to use the virDomainSaveImageGetXMLDesc() API, specifying an arbitrary path which would be accessed with the permissions of the libvirtd process. An attacker with access to the libvirtd socket could use this to probe the existence of arbitrary files, cause denial of service or cause libvirtd to execute arbitrary programs. Published: July 30, 2019; 7:15:12 PM -0400 |
V4.0:(not available) V3.1: 7.8 HIGH V2.0: 7.2 HIGH |
CVE-2019-10132 |
A vulnerability was found in libvirt >= 4.1.0 in the virtlockd-admin.socket and virtlogd-admin.socket systemd units. A missing SocketMode configuration parameter allows any user on the host to connect using virtlockd-admin-sock or virtlogd-admin-sock and perform administrative tasks against the virtlockd and virtlogd daemons. Published: May 22, 2019; 2:29:00 PM -0400 |
